How we write, review, and update our content.
PassLifeInUK exists to help people pass the Life in the UK test with less stress. This page explains how our guides and practice material are produced so you can judge their reliability.
Sources
Our study content is based on the official Life in the United Kingdom: A Guide for New Residents handbook, published by the Home Office. We also reference GOV.UK guidance on booking, ID requirements, fees, and next steps after the test. Where a claim is procedural (for example a fee, waiting period, or accepted document), we link to the relevant GOV.UK page.
Who writes our content
Articles are written by named contributors with a public author profile that lists their background, areas of expertise, and years of experience. We do not publish AI-generated content without human review, and we do not publish anonymous articles.
Review and updates
Every guide is reviewed before publication by a second team member. We recheck guides at least once a year and whenever:
- the official handbook or test format changes,
- the test fee or booking process is updated on GOV.UK,
- a reader reports an error through our corrections process.
Each blog post shows a Last updated date so you can see when it was last checked.
Independence and affiliations
PassLifeInUK is an independent study platform. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of GOV.UK, the Home Office, or any government department. We do not accept payment for favourable coverage of third-party products, and any partnerships will be clearly labelled where they appear.
Limits of our guidance
Our content is for general study and information. It is not immigration advice. For advice on your personal circumstances, speak to a qualified immigration adviser regulated by the OISC or a solicitor. For the latest official procedure, always check GOV.UK.
Corrections and feedback
If you spot an error, please see our corrections policy — we aim to review reports within five working days and update the affected page if the correction is confirmed.
